Product Overview
Novacide Flea and Tick Killer is an aerosol insecticide with a built-in insect growth regulator (IGR) that breaks the life cycle of targeted pests. Though primarily used for controlling fleas and ticks, Novacide can also be used against many other insects, such as cockroaches, moths, and ants. Novacide is safe to use and kills with contact.
Novacide Flea & Tick Killer, manufactured by Solutions Pest and Lawn, is a ready-to-use aerosol insecticide that readily sprays and kills fleas, ticks, and other insects, like cockroaches, ants, and more.
This effective pest killer is also a synthetic pyrethroid that includes pyriproxyfen, an insect growth regulator (IGR). IGRs prevent adult fleas and other adult insects from laying eggs and stop young insects from growing into adults.
When part of a comprehensive control plan, Novacide Flea & Tick Killer is 100% guaranteed to kill fleas, ticks, and other targeted pests. It leaves a residual, providing continued control for up to 7 months in labeled indoor areas.
Novacide comes in an easy-to-use aerosol can that allows the spray to come out in a fan shape. This helps to cover a large surface area in a short amount of time.
Suppose you have fleas, ticks, spiders, roaches, ants, and other pests inside your home or other indoor areas. In that case, Novacide Flea & Tick Killer is a safe and great product readily available for remedial and preventative control.
Tools Needed
Novacide comes pre-mixed in an aerosol can and requires no additional tools. However, you must ensure that you have the proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, a safety mask, protective eyewear, and long-sleeved clothing.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the square footage of the treatment area to determine how much Novacide you need to apply. A 100-square-foot area can be treated by spraying across the area for 10 seconds.
- Step 2: Before you apply, clean and vacuum your intended treatment areas. This will capture any pests wandering around, like adult fleas in carpets or larval pantry pests on shelves. Most importantly, it will stimulate any flea pupae (flea cocoons). Vacuuming will cause them to emerge early and be susceptible to the Novacide. Don't forget to clean your vacuum after use.
- Step 3: To apply, shake the can well before use, hold it at arm's length, and then spray the product on carpets, floors, furniture, pet bedding, and other surfaces where labeled pests can be found. The product will be applied parallel to the orientation of the can, so to apply downwards, hold the can upside down, pointing to the top where you want to apply. Use a sweeping motion, and back away while holding the can at a downward position about 36 inches from the treated area. To treat pantry shelves, create a barrier where the shelves meet the wall by applying 1 to 2-inch spots of product 1 to 2 inches apart.
- Step 4: Continue vacuuming, keeping areas sanitized, and spraying Novacide every 10 to 21 days (depending upon the life cycle of the insect infestation) to ensure eggs and larvae do not continue to hatch and grow. Do not allow people or pets into the treatment area until the product has dried completely.
Where to Use
Novacide Flea & Tick Killer is labeled for use indoors in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Apply this product to control pests in homes, apartments, hotels, motels, warehouses, veterinary clinics, kennels, and transportation equipment like ships and trucks.
This product can be sprayed on most floor surfaces, such as carpet and tile, and applied to baseboards, upholstered furniture, or pet bedding.
Do not use near food, food prep areas, and food serving areas, such as restaurants and kitchens.
When to Use
Apply Novacide when your home or building has fleas, roaches, ticks, or other labeled pests. This product also provides a 7-month residual effect and can be part of a preventative program. We recommend applying Novacide Flea & Tick Killer twice a year for year-round protection.
Safety Information
Novacide Flea & Tick Killer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
Do not allow pets or people to enter treated areas until the product has dried completely.
Remove any pets from the area, including birds, and cover fish aquariums before using this product.
Do not apply this product directly to companion animals.
Special Considerations
Novacide Flea & Tick Killer may stain some surface areas, so test a small, inconspicuous spot before full treatment to check for dulling or colorfastness. Avoid contact with antique finishes and leather upholstery.
Novacide is flammable; do not use or store it near heat sources or in an open flame.
When dry, it leaves a residual that continues to treat the area for up to seven months. Labeled pests that make contact with the spray or its residual will die within several hours, while immature pests will be affected by the product's IGR, stunting their growth and preventing them from becoming reproductive adults.
