Product Overview
D-Fender Dust Insecticide is a ready-to-use professional insecticide dust that offers a powerful knockdown and long-lasting control of various pests indoors and outdoors for up to 8 months when undisturbed. It is water-proof and odorless.
D-Fender Dust Insecticide, manufactured by Solutions Pest and Lawn, is a powerful deltamethrin insecticide dust that offers up to 8 months of long-lasting protection against a broad range of insects when left undisturbed.
D-Fender is formulated as a lightweight, waterproof dust, which means it will remain active in moist or humid areas like crawl spaces and voids in outdoor foundations. This makes it an excellent choice against pests that favor these conditions and those that like to harbor or forage in difficult-to-reach sites, such as ants, cockroaches, silverfish, and more.
D-Fender is a fine dust that quickly penetrates deep cracks, crevices, and voids where pests are commonly found. It is ready to use and is a favorite among professional exterminators and do-it-yourselfers for bed bug control and other hard-to-treat pests.
Tools Needed
It must be applied with a handheld duster, bulb duster, paint brush, or from the bottle itself. A teaspoon or measuring cup may also be used, but it cannot be used for food after use with this pesticide.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much D-Fender Dust Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For indoor use, apply at the rate of 1 oz. per 125 sq. ft. or 0.50 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. To treat shrubs and ornamentals, use 8 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. Do not apply more than 2 times per year for indoor and outdoor treatments.
- Step 2: If using a duster, fill it with the proper amount of this dust. Avoid overfilling, as this can cause clumping or may restrict airflow, leading to uneven application.
- Step 3: Lightly puff a fine, even layer of dust into the targeted areas. Typically, this will be only 1 or 2 puffs from the duster. Your goal is to apply a light coating of dust. Over-applying may repel pests from the application. To create an outdoor perimeter treatment, make applications around windows and doors, porches, screens, eaves, patios, garages, under stairways, and crawl spaces where pests may find entrance. Do not apply as a broadcast application indoors. Repeat after 10 days only if needed to maintain control.
Where to Use
D-Fender Dust Insecticide can be used indoors and outdoors of buildings and structures and their immediate surroundings. Permitted areas of use include but are not limited to: animal quarters, apartments, houses, home vegetable gardens, mobile homes and recreational vehicles, household greenhouses, and ornamentals.
When to Use
Apply this product as a proactive approach before infestations become active or during the middle of an infestation.
Outdoor treatments should be made when the weather is calm and when rainfall is not expected for the next 24 hours after application.
Safety Information
D-Fender Dust Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
Allow dust to settle in treated areas before allowing people and pets to reenter.
For bed bug treatments, the dust should be allowed to remain in contact with treated surfaces for a minimum of 4-6 hours. After this time has passed, you will then need to vacuum treated areas, dispose of vacuum bag and place clean linens on bed.
Special Considerations
This product is not intended for broadcast surface applications. Indoor applications should be made only to cracks, crevices, voids, or wall penetrations.
